On the different timescales in nuclear reactions

  • 1. Zentralinstitut fuer Kernforschung, Rossendorf (German Democratic Republic)

Description

According to microscopic calculations, in nuclear reactions at high level density different timescales appear as a consequence of 'avoided resonance overlapping'. It is shown that the same effect occurs in a simple model for an open system which is similar to mutation-selection models known from molecular biology. (author)
