Trajectories of charged particles traversing a plasma sheath in an oblique magnetic field

  • 1. Fusion Research Center, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia 30332

Description

A particle-in-cell technique is used to model a plasma sheath in which the magnetic field intersects the surface at an oblique angle. The angle of impact of deuterium and impurity ions striking the surface is examined and found to depend on the relative sizes of the ion gyroradii and the Debye length
