Geological disposal of high level radioactive waste in China: present situation and perspectives
Description
In this paper, China's policy for high level radioactive waste disposal is introduced, and the progresses in site selection and site characterization, backfill and buffer material studies are summarized, the preliminary plan for China's high level radioactive waste program is proposed, indicating that China will select its site for an Underground Research Laboratory in 2015. The possibility for international cooperation in the field of high level radioactive waste disposal is also explored in the paper
