Slowing-down and atomic capture of negative heavy particles in helium

Description
A problem concerning inelastic collisions of slow heavy negative M- particles with helium atoms is considered on the base of the method of coupling of channels among which an inlet two-particle channel (M-+He) and three-particle channel continuum (M-+He+(1S)+e-) are considered. Results of calculating the cross section of μ-, π-, k-, p-bar and Σ- capture by 4He atoms depending on the energy are given and the value characterizing the effective stopping is presented
