Selection of values of design peak heat flux to reduce the risk of waterside corrosion in fast reactor steam generator
Creators

Description
Attention is drawn to the high levels of peak heat flux that can exist in sodium heated steam generators. The strength of the relationship between heat flux and both deposition rate and the concentration of salts is discussed. Relevent steam generator operational experience obtained on the CEGB system is described and tentative proposals are made for limits to be applied to the peak heat flux values used in fast reactor steam generator design.
