Occupational doses to medical radiation technologists in Canada (1978-1988)

Description
This paper asses the radiation doses to medical radiation technologists in Canada for the period 1978-1988. Whole-body radiation doses to technologists in diagnostic radiology, nuclear medicine, and radiotherapy were analyzed for this 11-year period. Special attention was paid to the distribution of radiation doses, in light of the pending changes to occupational dose limits being proposed by the International Commission on Radiological Protection (IRCP). In addition, the demographic features of all three groups of technologists were examined, and their impact on the relative radiation risks were evaluated
