Evaluation of silica bonded potassium cobalt hexacyanoferrate towards radio-cesium from contaminated water
- 1. Process Development Division, Nuclear Recycle Board, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (India)
Description
Transition metal hexa cyanoferrates are the extensively evaluated ion exchange s to remove Cesium from wastewater because of their high selectivity and efficiency. The selectivity arises from their cubic structures with narrow channels having channel diameter compatible with the diffusion of small hydrated ions like Cs+. However, there is a scarcity of materials in granular bead form to be used in column mode. In continuation f our mission towards finalizing suitable products for the plant scale treatment of low-level waste, performance evaluation of a silica bonde Potassium Cobalt hexacyanoferrate was carried out. Highlights of the results are reported in this paper
