A computer system to enhance retrieval of nuclear plant modification documents

  • 1. Consolidated Edison Co., New York, NY (USA)
  • 2. Burns and Roe Co., Oradell, NJ (USA)

Description

Many modifications were made to the Indian Point Nuclear Station, Unit 2, since initial criticality. A central file location for documents associated with these modifications did not exist. Con Edison, as part of its Configuration Management Program, decided to locate those documents that were important to safety and create and maintain a central file for them. This paper will describe how Con Edison recovered these documents and created a mainframe based data base system to track their existence and acceptability
