High-voltage nanosecond pulse generator for streamer chamber

  • 1. Joint Inst. for Nuclear Research, Dubna (USSR)

Description

A high-voltage nanosecond pulse generator for JINR 2-meter streamer chamber power supply is described. The generator shaping line is charged by a high-voltage impulse generator with different polarity charging of step on the capacitor basis. Under the streamer chamber operating conditions the generator provides for ∼235 thousands of operations, 155 thousands of which a realized jointly with a streamer chamber at JINR synchrophasotron sessions (∼900 h unrepared). Therewith, generator parameters remained within the specified limits: the pulse amplitude is ∼500 kV for the amplitude being ≤1%, the pulse duration at half-height is ∼12 ns, the delay time ≤300 ns for its instability being 1.5-1.8%
