Electromagnetic transition strengths in 75Kr and 79Sr

Experimental and theoretical studies of nuclear structure in light Kr and Sr isotopes have revealed a region of large quadrupole deformation. In this work, deformation properties of odd-nuclei 75Kr and 79Sr have been investigated. For this purpose, lifetime of excited states in both nuclei have been measured by means of the recoil distance Doppler shift technique. These nuclei were populated via the reactions: 54Fe(24Mg,2pn)75Kr at 75 MeV and 54Fe(28Si,2pn)79Sr at 97 MeV, the beams were provided by the Tandar accelerator. The experimental B(E2) values for these nuclei were well reproduced in the framework of the triaxial-rotor-plus quasiparticle model. In order to fix the parameters of the model a study of neighboring even-even Kr isotopes was performed. The whole N=3 and N=4 oscillator shell was used for the space configuration of the odd particle for negative and positive bands respectively. (Author)

Estudios teoricos y experimentales de estructura nuclear en los isotopos livianos de Kr y Sr han revelado la existencia de una zona de gran deformacion cuadrupolar. En este trabajo, se investigaron propiedades de deformacion en los nucleos impares de 75Kr y 79Sr. Para este fin, se midieron vidas medias de estados excitados en ambos nucleos mediante la tecnica de corrimiento Doppler. Estos nucleos fueron poblados mediante las reacciones 54Fe(24Mg,2pn)75Kr a 75 MeV and 54Fe(28Si,2pn)79Sr a 97 MeV, con haces provistos por el acelerador Tandar. Estos ultimos fueron interpretados en terminos del modelo de una cuasi-particula acoplada a un rotor triaxial.(Autor)Additional details
