Preparation of thermo-sensitive hydrogel by pre-irradiation grafting
- 1. Shanghai Applied Radiation Institute, Shanghai Univ. (China)
Description
A new thermo-sensitive hydrogel that N-isopropyl-acrylamide (NIPAAm) was grafted onto ethylene-vinylacetate copolymer (EVA) by preirradiation grafting was obtained, and the effect of reaction condition on grafting reaction and thermo-sensitive were discussed. The experimental results showed that the grafting reaction on EVA with NIPPAm has common characteristics of pre-irradiation grafting reaction. Compared with the poly-NIPAAm gel, the grafted EVA with NIPAAm have better mechanical strength and more swift response to the change of temperature
