A comparison of the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory catalogue (SAO) with AGK3R and Perth 70
Description
The SAO catalogue has been compared with AGK3R for 19 596 stars having delta > 00, and with Perth 70 for 18 775 stars having delta < 00. Plots are given showing the comparisons for 100 zones in delta. Systematic differences can exceed 0.5 arcsec in certain areas. Recommendations are made for the use of SAO in the optical identification of radio sources. (author)
