A technique for the replication of phases in nimonic PE 16

Description
A technique has evolved for the replication of precipitate phases in PE 16. The principal advantages of this technique are its experimental simplicity and its ability to provide a way of viewing fine γ' distributions, carbides, and grain boundaries simultaneously. Where the γ' size is larger than approximately 50 nm, the technique quantitatively allows particle sizes, number densities, and volume fractions to be acquired simply. Examples of the use of this technique are given
