Description

An overview of the latest physics results obtained in the PHENIX experiment by studying pp, dAu, and AuAu interactions at √sNN = 200 GeV is given. Results of measurements of nuclear-modification factors, direct-photon production, and properties of light vector mesons and particles containing heavy c and b quarks are presented. These results are used to deduce information about the properties of dense parton matter produced in collisions of relativistic heavy nuclei at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC).
