Description
This paper reviews briefly the main topics presented at the Fifth International Conference on Plasma Surface Interactions in Controlled Fusion Devices, held at Gatlinburg, Tennessee (USA) on 3-7 May 1982. The subject of greatest interest was hydrogen isotope re-cycling. This broad category comprises hydrogen isotope backscattering, fuelling, trapping, diffusion, solubility, recombination, and tritium inventory. Other topics of major interest included limiter design and operation, divertor operation, probe measurements, and plasma diagnostics
