Description
State of the art of a problem on laser alloying of steels and alloys (1Kh12N2VMF, 1Kh17N2, VT1-0 etc) has been analysed on the basis of literature data and experimental investigations. General regularities of the alloyed area formation have been formulated. Laser alloying perspectivity for increase of wear resistance of structural materials is noted. It is underlined that surface layers containing boride, carbide, nitride and oxide phases possess the highest wear resistance
