Description

Because of the short lifetime of astatine isotopes there is a very limited knowledge about the chemical behaviour and physical properties of At and of its compounds. 209-211At isotopes were prepared by bombarding Th with 660 MeV proton beam in JINR synchrocyclotron. The chemical properties and dissociation constant of the astatoacetic acid were determined based on the radioactivity of the dissociated and undissociated acids distributed between the organic and aqueous phase of different pH values.
