Offshore wind energy passes the stage of competitiveness

This article briefly comments the situation of offshore wind energy in Northern Europe. The author notices that some fixed foundation wind farms are operated without any subsidy, but that it is not the case everywhere even though costs are decreasing. The author also addresses the case of the floating wind turbine technology which is slowly emerging, and thus still exhibits high costs which however may decrease in the future
