Study of rare decays of the K/sub L/0

Description

Using the SLAC K0/sub L/ Spectrometer Facility, the ratio GAMMA(K0/sub L/ → π+π-γ)/GAMMA(K0/sub L/ → all) to be (6.2 plus or minus 2.1) x 10-5 was measured. The rate and Dalitz plot distribution of 24 plus or minus 10 events are consistent with CP conservation in this weak-electromagnetic decay. Also upper limits were set on the processes K0/sub L/ → μ+μ-γ, μ+μ-π0, π+π-e+e-, and π0π+-e-+ν. (U.S.)
