Description

Interaction between a magnetic vortex and a frustration created by a magnetic defect is investigated in the framework of the discrete Heisenberg model of a two-dimensional antiferromagnet with the easy-plane anisotropic exchange. Solutions of the static Landau-Lifshitz equations are found numerically, which describe the spin distributions in the magnetic frustration-vortex system. It is revealed that the total energy of the magnet reaches a minimum value in the case where the vortex center coincides with the magnetic impurity position. It is shown that the attraction between the vortex and the frustration gives rise to a two-dimensional solitonic bound state, a frustrated vortex, in the magnet. The energy of the vortex is less than the energy of a free vortex, and this effect can manifest itself in the behavior of EPR line half-width in two-dimensional magnets
