The status of XMASS experiment

Description
The XMASS project utilizes ultrapure liquid xenon and aims to detect pp and 7Be solar neutrinos by means of νee scattering. It requires low background and a low threshold which will also enable one to search for dark matter in the Galactic halo. The sensitivity of an 800-kg liquid-xenon detector for a dark matter search experiment based on the experimental results has been estimated

Описывается проект эксперимента XMASS, предназначенного для регистрации рр- и 7Be-солнечных нейтрино взаимодействий с помощью νee-рассеяния и основанного на использовании сверхчистого жидкого ксенона. В этом случае требуется обеспечение низкого фона и низкого порога, что позволит реализовать поиски темной материи в галактических гало.
