Borehole investigations data sheet in Horonobe Underground Research Center (HDB-1 to HDB-11)

Description

Boreholes from HDB-1 to HDB-11 were drilled at the Hokushin area of Horonobe Town, Teshio District, Hokkaido, Japan, in order to investigate the characteristics of deep underground. This report summarizes results of core logging, borehole wall image mapping (electrical micro imagery and acoustic imagery), mechanical tests and physical tests carried out with the purpose of clarifying the geological and mechanical characteristics from the surface to the deeper parts of these boreholes. A CD-ROM is attached as an appendix. (J.P.N.)
