Forced-flow turbulent film boiling of subcooled liquid flowing in horizontal flat duct

  • 1. Thermal Engineering Dept., Tsinghua Univ., Beijing 100084

Description

The authors discuss how the analytical model for turbulent film boiling of subcooled liquid along a horizontal plate is now extended to the case of subcooled liquid flowing a horizontal duct. The corresponding mathematical description is given, and a semi-empirical heat transfer correlation derived is well verified by experimental data for subcooled water flow. The results are expected to be adaptable for practical heat transfer calculation of high-temperature quenching process for rolled metals
