Initiation of fusion reactions in media containing deuterium by cavitation

  • 1. Institute of Physical Chemistry, Moscow (Russian Federation)

Description

The possibility of initiating cold fusion reactions by ultrasonic cavitation in heavy water is studied. A time-varying emission of neutrons is observed during cavitation in D2O on a titanium vibrator that shows traces of cavitation-induced erosion (having been open-quotes conditionedclose quotes in D2O for 20 h). The effect is furthest above the natural background level (12σ) during cavitation in a suspension of disperse LaNi5Dx particles in D2O
