Short-range structure of amorphous films on iron and 18-8 stainless steel determined by electron diffraction

Description
By use of the radial distribution function (RDF) method, amorphous electron diffraction patterns taken from a rust on iron and an oxide film on 18-8 stainless steel were analysed. The former consisted of γ-FeOOH, and the latter α-FeOOH and/or α-Fe2O3 in the short range. (orig.)
