Recent studies in clinical radiobiology

Description

The experimental findings of the radiosensitizing effect of metronidazole on bacteria, on the bone marrow and on the local irradiation of the mouse tail and of the tumor R-1 in rats are represented. Metronidazole as radiosensitizer was used in more than 120 patients and its the dynamics in the blood was also determined. The application of hyperthermia in radiotherapy of malignomas is reported. The radiobiological effect of neutron radiation in the animal model was studied as to different criteria and compared to a gamma irradiation. (author)
