Implications seen from the angle of the young generation: Will a shortage of qualified manpower create a safety risk?

The requirement for radiation protection know-how and facilities for nuclear installations was the father of radiation protection science and technology in Germany, with offspring in many other fields, like medical radiological protection for example. If the opt-out scenario will be put in place as planned by some ''experts'' today, radiation protection will lose its major field of application, and this will induce repercussions in many other fields of science and technology.
