Nuclear-generated steam for heavy-oil recovery

Description
The suitability of the gas-cooled nuclear reactor for the generation of injection steam is examined, and it is shown that the oilfield requirements can be met with minor changes to proven reactor designs. The economic potential is examined, using a project model for a central nuclear steam generator in a typical oilfield. The results demonstrate a large increase in oilfield earnings potential.
