Phase transformations in binary and ternary Al-Mg-Li alloys
Description
Methods of differential thermal analysis and electron diffraction microscopy have been applied to investigate phase transformations on heating and cooling in aluminium base alloys (Al-1%Li, Al-2%Li, Al-5%Mg; Al-5.1%Mg-2%Li). More precise determination is made for temperature ranges of fields of existence for the most important intermetallic phases when temperature and chemical composition vary within permissible technological limits. It is revealed that magnesium in a ternary alloy intensifies the effects of dissolution and precipitation of Al-Li phases.24 refs., 5 figs., 1 tab
