Characterization of certain materials using ion beams
Description
This work concerns the use of backscattering characteristics of argon ions (rare gas) and nitrogen ions (normal gas) to define the properties of silver, aluminum, stainless steel and iodine from the interface aspects. Four stainless steel plates are prepared, three of which are used as substrates to deposit films of these elements. The study is being carried out on the low-energy range of the incoming ions (≤ 2 KeV). The data obtained from the experiments are discussed in detail within the frame work of the process possibly arising in elastic and inelastic collisions. 5 fig
