Description

In this paper performance of CsI (Tl) crystal detector is calculated for different energy point sources in different positions for source detection efficiency, peak to total ratio, energy resolution. Using the Monte Carlo method simulation package of Geant4 to build the physical model, the detector size is 7.5 cm × 7.5 cm cylindrical CsI ( Tl) crystal, by using the energy values of 478, 661.62, 834.56, 1114, 1332.48, 1367.9 keV of 7Be, 137Cs, 54Mn, 65Zn, 60Co, and 24Na for point source, and positioning it in front of the crystal axis. According to the data obtained from the fitting matrix detectors for different energy sources in different distances, parameters of detection function are obtained, the calculated values are compared with the corresponding experimental data, and reasonable agreement was obtained. In the case of limited experimental conditions, it can provide a reliable reference data and design method for the study of the characteristics of detection efficiency and other properties.
