Basis of the detection, assessment and cleaning up of sites contaminated with heavy metals
Description
The cleaning up of sites contaminated with heavy metals is still in its infancy. Depending on the type and extent of the contamination, new methods of treatment must be developed and matched to each situation. A survey is given of the groundwater contamination of soil heavy metals; the binding, availability and mobilisation of heavy metals; geo-chemical concepts for sites contaminated by heavy metals; judging the potential danger; safety measures; cleaning up processes and the reinstatement and renaturing of the soil. Die Sanierung schwermetellbelasteter Standorte steckt noch in den Anfaengen. Je nach Art und Ausmass der Kontamination muessen Behandlungsmethoden neu entwickelt und der jeweiligen Situation angepasst werden. Es wird eine Uebersicht gegeben, ueber die Grundwasserverschmutzung durch schwermetallbelastete Boeden; die Bindung, Verfuegbarkeit und Mobilisierung von Schwermetallen; geochemische Konzepte fuer schwermetallbelastete Standorte; Beurteilung des Gefaehrdungspotentials; Sicherungsmassnahmen; Sanierungsverfahren und den Wiedereinbau und Renaturierung des Bodens.
