Safety analyses for the new fuel at the Dukovany NPP. Blackout. Revision 1
Description
The RELAP5/MOD3.1 code was used for the calculations. Conservatism of the analysis consisted in the choice of unfavourable conditions for reactor core cooling. 'Avoiding departure from nucleate boiling' was the principal acceptance criterion for the design basis accident. The departure from nucleate boiling ratio (DNBR) was evaluated by means of the standardized PI-1 correlation. The minimum DNBR attained, viz. 1.41, has a sufficient margin above the PI-1 correlation limit for the WWER fuel (1.29)
