Description

An excellent compilation is given of facts not easily found on the Canadian nuclear program. Some background physics and radiation biology are explained. The implications of using uranium, plutonium, and thorium as nuclear fuels are discussed. Heavy water production is briefly discussed, as is management of nuclear wastes. Overall, great emphasis is placed on explicating environmental effects and possible hazards of nuclear power. (E.C.B.)
