Inelastic neutron scattering from solid benzene
- 1. Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, N.J. (USA). Feltman Research Labs.
Description
Neutron scattering spectra from polycrystalline benzene have been obtained at temperatures between 77 and 270°K. These measurements are compared to recent calculations of spectra using a lattice frequency distribution based on optically determined force constants. The results at different temperatures are discussed, and qualitative agreement between calculated and measured cross sections at lower temperatures is obtained.
