Semi-empirical systematics for (n, α) reaction cross sections at the energy of 14.5 MeV

Description
A new semi-empirical 7-parametric formula for the calculation of (n, α) reaction cross sections at an energy of 14.5 MeV is suggested. To derive it the analytical expressions describing the α-particle emission spectrum within the frame of the pre-equilibrium exciton and the evaporation models were used. The systematics obtained ensures better agreement with experimental data than empirical systematics suggested earlier by other authors. (orig.)
