Production technology and properties of high-density items of aluminium nitride

Description

The influence of grinding conditions (dry grinding, wet grinding, grinding with addition of surface active agents (SAA)) and of the duration of grinding on dispergation of aluminium nitride powder is studied. It is shown that an increase in the dispersity of the initial powder considerably enhances the density of fired articles. High-density ceramics from AlN can be produced from technical-purity powder ground to the specific surface of 10-13 m2/g, at a firing temperature of 1900-1950 deg C in a nitrogen atmosphere. The most important thermomechanical and electrophysical properties of ceramics produced from AlN are investigated and fields of application of such ceramics are determined
