Study by positron annihilation of radiation damage in an aluminium collimator of a 30 MeV electron LINAC
- 1. Ghent Rijksuniversiteit (Belgium). Lab. voor Kernfysica
Description
A positron annihilation lineshape study was made of samples cut from an aluminium commercial alloy collimator of a 30 MeV electron LINAC. The same material was studied after 60% deformation and both measurements were compared with the results of deformed pure aluminium samples. It was concluded that after irradiation, in addition to dislocations other trapping centres also have to be present. The annealing behaviour of the different samples is discussed. (orig.)
