Deactivation of HCl(v=1) and DCl(v=1) by H and D atoms at T=295 K*

  • 1. The Aerospace Corporation, El Segundo, California 90245

Description

The techniques of isothermal calorimetry (for H atoms) and laser-induced fluorescence for HCl(1) were combined to yield absolute rate coefficients for H and D atom removal of HCl(1) and DCl(1). At T=295 K, the rate coefficients for H+HCl(1), D+HCl(1), H+DCl(1), and D+DCl(1) are (4.6+-1.4) x1012, (6.5+-2.0) x1012, (1.1+-0.3) x1012, and (1.2+-0.4) x1012 cm3/molxsec, respectively
