Multiphoton transitions in the ionization continuum of atoms

  • 1. Centre d'Etudes Nucleaires de Saclay, Gif-sur-Yvette, France

Description

This paper contains two main parts: in the first one the authors summarize their contribution to the study of ATI (Above-Threshold Ionization) and discuss the role of the ponderomotive force. In the second, new results are reported on multiple ionization of calcium atoms with picosecond pulses. 26 references, 6 figures, 3 tables
