Absorbed dose distribution near tissue-equivalent matter surface irradiated by high-energy muons

Description

Presented are the results of absorbed dose measurements near tissue-equivalent matter surface irradiated by high-energy muons with an average impulse of 17 GeV/c. The measurements are carried out by a parallel plate ionization chamber within the depth range from 3.6x10-3 to 25gxcm-2. The experimental results are compared with the calculated data. Maximum divergence of experimental and calculated data in absolute values of absorbed doses for the depth range from 0.1 to 30gxcm-2 constitutes 10%. The obtained results are required to interpret the readings of film detectors in the fields of high-energy radiation as well as to analyse the component composition of the doses in the phantoms, irradiated by high-energy particles
