The detailed investigation of the critical current density of optimized Nb3Sn modified jelly roll wire throughout its entire superconducting phase including a comparative study with a similar non-optimized composite

Description

Data are given characterising the distribution in critical currents intrinsic to an optimized Nb3Sn wire as a function of field and temperature. The different functional forms of the component critical currents are discussed in terms of the Fietz-Webb scaling law. It is demonstrated that the flux-flow state is characterised by defect flow within the flux-line-lattice (F-L-L). A comparison is made both, between the critical current and also the flux-flow state of optimized and non-optimized composites. (author)
