Description

UV-irradiated pollen was successfully used in inducing pollen fertility in the sterile interspecific hybrids of C. acuminata x C. nitida. Irradiation for both 15 and 30 seconds was found to be effective in induced pollen fertility. 'Nuts' (seeds) obtained from successful pollinations segregated for cotyledon number - two and three.
