Description

The concentration dependences of the solid solutions physical and mechanical properties in the Ti-M-C-N systems (where M=Zr, V, Nb, Hf) have been researched. Alongwith the nonmetal atoms substitution, metal lattice atoms are being substituted as well. Resonance acoustic method has been used in order to determine the elastic modules and microhardness of the samples, produced by the hot-pressing of the powders. It is shown that the microhardness decrease is a common tendency, when TiC is substituted with MN. In case of the TiCsub(0.5)Nsub(0.5)-Vc system the microhardness declines abruptly with the addition of 10 mol.%VC. Following that it does not depend on the composition. The nonadditive character of the elastic modules variation with the compound has been detected. During the TiC changing-over to MN, the elastic modules of all the studied solid solutions grow initially, reaching their maximum. Subsequently, they decline
