SPECT imaging of cerebral blood flow
Description
The results of SPECT imaging of cerebral blood flow using a new radiopharmaceutical anget 99mTc-HM-PAO in 95 cases are presented. Among them, there were 76 cases of cerebral vascular diseases, 12 cases of epilepsy, 4 cases of brain tumor, 2 cases of migraine and one case of cerebellar ataxia. Decreased perfusion over lesion was observed in 85 patients and increased perfusion in 2 AVM patients. All of these patients were also studied with X-CT. Comparison of SPEC with X-CT,DSA and MRI revealed that SPECT imaging of cerebral blood flow enabled early detection of acute cerebral infarction and TIA prior to X-CT and was also helpful in the evaluation of treatment and the localization of epileptic foci
