Loss cone region in toroidal helical systems
Description
Analytic formula is derived for the loss cone in the toroidal helical systems. Particular emphasis is put on the loss region for the particles which are barely trapped in the helical ripples. Effects of the radial electric field and shifts of the magnetic axis are discussed. Loss region is shown to be much wider than the evaluation given for the deeply trapped particles. (author)
