Experimental analysis of H3- and D3-molecule autoionization

Description
Excited neutral triatomic hydrogen and deuterium molecules formed by electron-impact excitation have been investigated. We report on the autoionization of H3* and D3* molecules produced by the reactions H2++H2→H3*+H+ and D2++D2→D3*+D+. We measured the lifetime of H3* and D3* and the branching ratio between H3*, D3*, and H3+, D3+ production channels
