Some criteria of decay process of Chandrasekhar's equation of decay for hydromagnetic turbulence

  • 1. Technical Teacher's Training Inst., Calcutta (India). Dept. of Mathematics

Description

Heisenburg's (1948) equation for the decay of eddy turbulence possesses a more general type of self-preserving solution as given by Sen (1951). In the present work, it is found that such types of self-preserving solutions also satisfy Chandrasekhar's equation for the decay of hydromagnetic turbulence in the limiting situations of zero viscosity and infinite electrical conductivity. The asymptotic solutions for these cases have been obtained. (author)
