Description
An experimental studies were made into specific features of heat release and diffusionless transformations in austenitic stainless steel 12Kh18N10T during its deformation by tension in the temperature range of 25-200 deg C. It is concluded that the observed decrease of mechanical properties and heat release in the range of 25-100 deg C can be associated with the suppression of the tendency of metastable steel to deformation-induced martensitic transformation. The temperature close to 100 deg C is shown to correspond to minimal values of mechanical properties. Above this temperature the martensitic phase is not formed under deformation
