Testing the limiting power of Dukovany reactors for the safety limit of the 1st barrier (fuel cladding)
Description
For selected points of the VVER 440/213 (Dukovany) reactor (for 6 running main coolant pumps and pressures of 12.4 and 9.4 MPa, and for 3 running main coolant pumps and pressure 12.4 MPa), the position of the safety limits for the 1st safety barrier (fuel elements) was calculated allowing for flow redistribution in the reactor core channels due to the presence of steam in the most stressed channels. Furthermore, analysis was performed of the failure of 6 main coolant pumps with respect to the safety limit for the 1st barrier, and the analysis of the failure of 3 main coolant pumps from among the 6 pumps in use, as included in the pre-operation safety report, was evaluated.
